The Law Commission has finally published its long awaited review of taxi and private hire legislation as well as a Draft bill.


NALEO calls for Deregulation Bill “Taxi” clauses to be droppedThe National Association of Licensing and Enforcement Officers (NALEO) has urged “every Local Authority and interested trade organisation” to lobby their Members of Parliament to have the Deregulation Bill “Taxi” clauses to be dropped when they are debated next week.

Yet another Private Member’s Bill has been introduced seeking to amend licensing legislation – this time the regulation of sex establishments.


The Sex Establishments (Regulation) Bill was introduced to Parliament on 28 January 2014 under the Ten Minute Rule sponsored by Diana Johnson, MP for Kingston upon Hull North.
